Biography: Even though he was born and raised in Skyrim, Fin, along with his older brother Faendal, was always looked at as an outsider as much at home in Riverwood as when he ventured out into Skyrim's surrounding lands. In the lack of dominant parents, Faendal took over the upbringing of Fin, tutoring him in the skills of marksmanship by taking him on day long hunting trips in Whiterun and Falkreath Holds. As it turned out, the time Faendal and Fin spent growing closer to each other was a good investment. On Fin's 14th birthday his mother died in a gruesome accident at the saw mill. The loss of his wife drove the Bosmer brothers' father insane as he grew to believe that his sons had purposely caused the accident and were now plotting to kill him as well. One night Faendal was woken up by the sound of his drunken father leaning over him with a woodcutter's axe. Quick to react, Faendal pulled his brother out of bed and together the fled from their father. When they returned to Riverwood a few days later, he had been found dead in the river giving name to the village. From that day, Faendal was bound to take care of his younger brother Fin.
